WEBE facilitates discussion and cooperation amongst broadcasters on issues and projects that affect all of them. WEBE also seeks to coordinate the efforts of broadcasters and other interested parties in the DC area to achieve common goals.

Foremost among these is frequency coordination of radio spectrum assigned by the FCC to broadcasters.
